As a playwright, I use my full name, Donald Ralph Lampton, to honor my late father: noted Louisville jazz bassist Ralph Lampton.
I am a member of the Kentucky Theatre Association, the Dramatists Guild of America, and the Playwrights' Round Table. I divide my time between Lexington, Kentucky and Palm Coast, Florida.
